| Terrisca Des Jardins, MHSA, joins my1HIE® as Director of Strategic Partnerships |

Bingham Farms, MI, July 22, 2009 – my1HIE, LLC is excited to introduce Terrisca Des Jardins, MHSA as the new Director of Strategic Partnerships. Terrisca comes to my1HIE from the Greater Detroit Area Health Council’s (GDAHC) Save Lives Save Dollars (SLSD) initiative where she served most recently as Director, SLSD. Terrisca served a lead role in building strategic relationships with key regional, state, national and international organizations to advance the work of SLSD which is now nationally recognized as one of the leading regional collaboratives across the country in accelerating health care reform efforts at a local level. Terrisca provided direction to work areas related to performance measurement and public reporting, differential payment, quality improvement collaboratives, disparities, program assessment and fund development. Among other accomplishments, Terrisca led work on Michigan’s first-ever (and one of the first in the country), multi-payer physician organization performance report. Prior to joining GDAHC in January 2007, Terrisca was an independent consultant for over 5 years. She provided consultation to numerous state and national organizations, foundations, and government agencies. Additionally, during this time, Terrisca provided direction for 4 years to the Southeast Michigan PARTNERS PROJECT, a Centers for Disease Control sponsored initiative which was awarded the 2004 National Partnership for Immunization Award for its successes in care improvements through multi-stakeholder collaboration. From 1993 through May of 2001, Terrisca was employed by Health Management Associates as Consultant and then Senior Consultant where her focus of work was on Medicaid and underserved populations where she provided expert consultation to public and private organizations as well as foundations. In her capacity as senior consultant at HMA, Terrisca also assisted state agencies in thinking through initial design, and in re-structuring existing health care programs. Terrisca serves on a number of national health care workgroups, and is also an Adjunct Professor at Oakland University. Terrisca holds a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and BA from James Madison College at Michigan State University. She is also a graduate of the Executive Program in Managed Care at the University of Missouri.
