Bingham Farms, MI, August 12, 2009 - my1HIE® (My One Health Information Exchange) has delivered over 1,016 training sessions to new users of My WorkspaceSM and its applications in the first six months of 2009- surpassing all previous measures by a significant margin. The 1,016 training sessions were delivered to physicians and staff who represent over 1,000 health care providers in Southeast Michigan.
My WorkspaceSM is the physician web portal through which my1HIE® delivers its online solutions and connectivity to over 7,000 health care providers, hospitals, health plans, and other entities in the healthcare industry. Customized training sessions delivered by my1HIE® include: Introduction to My WorkspaceSM, Portal Administration, DrFirst (e-Prescribing), ProviderLink (document management), and WellCentive (patient registries).
"We have literally tripled our cirriculum to meet the needs of the practices participating in the exchange. Our current curriculum now includes offerings for beginners, established users, and advanced users" according to Debra Baker, Program Manager, Training and Development at my1HIE®. "Because we have a dedicated training staff, we have the flexibility to offer both centralized training, as well as on-site instruction if it is required- whatever is most convenient for participating physicians. It has worked-out better than anticipated."
Because My WorkspaceSM and its clinical applications are relatively easy to comprehend and use, the training courses are usually less than three hours in length - a physician can attend a session on DrFirst in the morning and be e-Prescribing in the afternoon.
According to John Vismara, COO of my1HIE®, "a key factor that is driving the demand for the training sessions is the rapid adoption of My WorkspaceSM among numerous physician organizations in Southeast Michigan including United Physicians, Olympia Medical Services, Continuum Management Services, Huron Valley Physicians Association, and Oakland Physician Network Services. In addition, the Detroit Medical Center has recently selected my1HIE® technology and is in the process of integrating My WorkspaceSM into its network. Clearly, there is no other Health Information Exchange in the State of Michigan that is experiencing this level of demand among physicians and the healthcare community."
Vismara went on to say "This really bodes well for the future. As more and more physician organizations and their doctors get on-board and adopt My WorkspaceSM into their practice operations, it creates a great deal of momentum for their practice and other participants in the my1HIE® health exchange as well."
